Rooted

At The North Canton Chapel, we want to be the church who makes much of Jesus everyday to everyone.

As a part of that vision, the pastors and staff at North Canton Chapel began to ask simple question: "What if it was possible to give everybody at NCC an opportunity to become a disciple of Jesus?" We needed a platform - one "front door" that everyone at NCC could walk through.

That's where Rooted came in.

Since Summer 2018, we've been piloting Rooted at NCC with leaders and smaller groups. And the results have been tremendous! People have grown closer to Jesus, connected to our church, and lives have been transformed. We're thrilled to announce that Rooted will be available to everyone at NCC in January 2019!

We anticipate hosting 10 groups that will meet starting the week of January 13, 2019. We'd love it if you'd consider joining a group. For more info, click the links below.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rooted?

Rooted is a 10 week discipleship experience and a catalyst for life-change. It provokes questions, conversations, and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God's story.

Where and when do Rooted groups meet?

Most Rooted groups meet 6:30-8:00pm on campus at NCC.

How will my group be chosen?

Our Rooted team will prayerfully place participants into groups of about 10-14 people. We group by age, marital status, and life stage. These groups ultimately depend upon the demographic of those who registered. A substantial amount of prayer and thoughtfulness goes into creating groups which we think will provide the best experience for all people who attend. We'll let you know about your Rooted group via e-mail by January 5th, 2019.

Will there be childcare available?

Yes! We believe everyone at NCC should be able to go experience Rooted and that includes you :) Childcare is available for Sunday night groups meeting at NCC for children 3rd grade and under.

Who should join a Rooted group?

Everyone. Seriously :) Whether you've been walking with Jesus for decades or you're new to finding your faith, Rooted will be a rich experience for you.

What's the difference between Rooted and MC's?

Rooted is the onramp to missional communities. At the end of 10 weeks, your Rooted group has the option to continue as an MC. All new MC's are strongly encouraged to use Rooted as their first group experience.

What if I can't make all 10 weeks?

We understand Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it's worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than 2 meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted. The 10 weeks build on each other, so we ask participants to honor their commitment to each and the group.

How much does Rooted cost?

Rooted costs $30 per person which includes all sessions, your workbook, materials, and the celebration dinner at the end of 10 weeks. It breaks down to just $3 per week!

Are there scholarships available?

We believe anyone should be able to experience Rooted. If you'd like to apply for financial assistance in the form of a Rooted scholarship, click here to be directed to an application form. We'll be in touch with you soon.

How do I register?

Registration is easy! Click here for the Sunday night registration or here for the Thursday night. If upcoming groups don't fit into your schedule, please check back. We anticipate launching new Rooted groups 3 times / year.

Can I facilitate a Rooted group?

Sure thing! The requirements for leading a Rooted group at NCC are graduating through Rooted as a participant and agreement with the NCC Leadership Covenant.
