Coffee Team
- Description: Coffee baristas brew coffee and hot water, and distribute to three locations around the building. After folks are greeted at the door, the coffee stations are their next stop. Coffee ministry volunteers work in teams of 2. This is a great chance to grab a friend, a family member, or spouse and serve together!
- Commitment: We currently have 8 teams who serve approximately once every two months. On occasion, extra events will request our team to provide coffee.We ask coffee volunteers to arrive at 7:30am to begin making coffee. After the 1st gathering ends, teams check to see if refills are needed, and then brew more accordingly. When the second gathering begins, clean-up begins for the team. Pots are collected from all three stations and are rinsed out along with the brewing urns.
- Getting Started: To join the coffee team, please complete the interest form. The team lead will contact you and set-up a time for training. Training consists of one or two mornings spent shadowing/helping another team serve.
First Impressions
- Description: A Connect Area Greeter is a person who has the willingness to engage with new/returning guests to help them find their next step. This person is warm, welcoming, and comfortable talking with new people. A base understanding of NCC is preferred, along with the willingness to find an answer to questions you do not already know.
- Commitment: Connect Area Greeters are asked to serve once a month, serving during both gatherings on their requested date. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for a volunteer huddle. In the week leading up to serving, we ask that Connect Area Greeters pray for the people they will greet and the interactions they will have on Sunday.
- Getting Started: To join the First Impressions team, please complete the serve interest form. The team lead will set up a meeting to get to know you and complete a brief training.
- Description: An Interior Greeter greets people as they enter the sanctuary. Extend a hand or simply a nod along with a verbal welcome. A team of 2 interior greeters is assigned each week and is responsible for counting general attendance in the sanctuary each week.
- Commitment: Interior Greeters are asked to serve once a month, serving during both gatherings on their requested date. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for a volunteer huddle. In the week leading up to serving, we ask that Interior Greeters pray for the people they will greet and the interactions they will have on Sunday.
- Getting Started: To join the First Impressions team, please complete the serve interest form. The team lead will set up a meeting to get to know you and complete a brief training.
- Description: A Welcome Desk Greeter serves mainly as a point of contact in the main lobby throughout Sunday morning gatherings. This greeter welcomes anyone who arrives after the gathering begins, and helps provide direction around the building to anyone needing it. Another key responsibility is to act as a liaison for the Medical team volunteer, police officer, and ministry leads throughout the building in case of a medical emergency.
- Commitment: Welcome Desk Greeters are asked to serve once a month, serving during one gathering on their requested date. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for a volunteer huddle. In the week leading up to serving, we ask that Welcome Desk Greeters pray for the people they will greet and the interactions they will have on Sunday.

- Description: Exterior Greeters are the front line of the First Impressions team – these greeters may even be the first face some see in the morning. At the most basic level, this role is to open the door for and verbally greet attendees.
- Commitment: Exterior Greeters are asked to serve once a month, serving during both gatherings on their requested date. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for a volunteer huddle. In the week leading up to serving, we ask that Exterior Greeters pray for the people they will greet and the interactions they will have on Sunday.

- Description: Medical Team members are available during both gatherings in case of a medical emergency to coordinate minor medical care, and discern if further medical care is needed. Medical Team members will determine if the situation deems emergency care and will coordinate with Staff Point Person, and possibly NCPD officer to call for additional help.
- Commitment: Medical Team members are asked to serve once a month, serving during both gatherings on their requested date. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for a volunteer huddle.

Group Life
- Description: Community Group Facilitators are those who have a passion for community and want to help lead or launch a group full of people who are craving connection and community. This role does not require creating material but simply facilitates curriculum given by the NCC Group Life team.
- Commitment: Being a Community Group Facilitator is an ongoing commitment that depends on group goals and dynamic.
- Getting Started: Next Steps for interest in being a Community Group Facilitator is to complete the serve interest form. The team lead will set up a brief meeting to get to know you and complete a Community Group training.
Group Life: Women's
- Description: Help us roll out the welcome mat for other women! The Welcome and Hospitality Team will have opportunities to serve in a variety of ways, including greeting, helping with registration tables, assisting with coffee and food service, and/or assisting with set up and cleaning for events.
- Commitment: Team members will be notified regarding upcoming needs and opportunities to serve that you can volunteer for as your schedule allows.
- Getting Started: To join the Welcome and Hospitality Team, please complete the serve interest form. You will be contacted as opportunities for serving arise.
- Description: Individuals who are willing to be trained to help with basic support for Women's Ministry events, including running slides and helping with basic sound board needs.
- Commitment: Team members will be notified regarding upcoming needs and opportunities to serve that you can volunteer for as your schedule allows.
- Getting Started: To join the Women's Ministry Tech Team, please complete the serve interest form. You will be contacted to discuss availability and set up basic training times.
- Description: Are you currently investing in other women and want some ongoing help and support, or are you interested in potentially mentoring or teaching in the future? We would like to assist you in your current ministry and/or join you in prayerful preparation for what God might have for you. This group will read formative books together, practice spiritual disciplines, learn skills for effectively leading other women into God's Word, and pray together for what good works God has prepared in advance for you (Ephesians 2:10).
- Commitment: This group will meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:30 - 8:30pm beginning in September. We will plan to read one book every month and come prepared to discuss.

Kids: Early Childhood
- Description: The role of a Nursery Volunteer is to care for babies and toddlers by providing a safe and loving environment. Volunteers will help children experience God’s love through play, stories, and simple activities. Volunteers are also responsible for providing children’s basic care needs, including feeding and diapering as needed.
- Commitment: Volunteers serve on a month on/month off rotation. During ”on” months, volunteers will serve every week during either the 9:00am or 10:30am Sunday morning service.

- Description: The role of a Preschool/Kindergarten Volunteer is to connect with and disciple kids. Preschool/Kindergarten Volunteers will engage with kids, and lead kids through prescribed activities and discussion questions that coincide with the lesson.
- Commitment: Volunteers serve on a month on/month off rotation. During ”on” months, volunteers will serve every week during either the 9:00am or 10:30am Sunday morning service.

- Description: The role of a Large Group Teacher is to teach preschool and kindergarten age children Biblical truths through dynamic and engaging lessons and application. Large Group Teachers will also be responsible for managing the large group schedule and transitions, including welcome, worship, teaching, reflection, and dismissal to small groups.
- Commitment: Volunteers serve approximately 1-2 Sundays per month or on an as needed basis during the 10:30am service.

Kids: Elementary
- Description: The role of a Small Group Leader is to connect with and disciple kids. Small Group Leaders will engage with kids, follow the direction of the large group teacher, and lead kids through prescribed activities and discussion questions that coincide with the lesson.

Kids: Special Team Roles
- Description: The role of the children’s check-in desk volunteer is to ensure a warm and stress-free arrival experience for kids and families on Sunday mornings. This includes assisting kids and families with check-in, registering visitors and new families, providing building navigation assistance, and answering any questions families may have. The check-in desk volunteer is also responsible for printing and distributing check-in rosters for small group leaders.
- Commitment: Volunteers serve on a month on/month off rotation. During ”on” months, volunteers will serve every week during either the 9:00am or 10:30am Sunday morning service.

- Description: The role of the door greeter is to provide a friendly and energetic first impression as kids and families arrive on Sunday mornings. This includes holding doors, welcoming families, and giving high-fives!
- Commitment: Volunteers serve on a month on/month off rotation. During ”on” months, volunteers will serve every week during either the 9:00am or 10:30am Sunday morning service.

- Description: The role of the hall monitor is to create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment in children’s ministry. Hall monitors are responsible for monitoring hallway activity, redirecting any unauthorized individuals from the Kid’s Ministry space during service times, monitoring restroom usage in the children’s ministry area, and redirecting students and adults to appropriate facilities when needed.
- Commitment: Volunteers serve on a month on/month off rotation. During ”on” months, volunteers will serve every week during either the 9:00am or 10:30am Sunday morning service.

- Description: The role of a Substitute is to fill gaps in the volunteer schedule, both for scheduled absences and unforeseen call-offs. The Substitute may fill the role of check-in desk, door greeter, hall monitor, or Small group leader for any age group, according to preference and training.

- Description: The role of a Kids Ministry Buddy is to connect with and support a child who benefits from one-on-one assistance during Kids Ministry. Buddies will build a relationship with their assigned child and provide individualized support to help them participate in activities, engage with the lesson, and learn alongside their peers
- Commitment: Kids Ministry Buddies serve during the 10:30am Sunday morning service. Consistency is especially important in this role as buddies build trust and familiarity with the child they serve.

Meal Ministry
- Description: Meal Ministry supplies meals for people who have had surgery, new babies, or hardship in life. We also provide luncheon meals for memorial services.
- Commitment: Volunteers can volunteer whenever they are able to. There is no set time or limit on how much you are able to serve.
- Getting started: Please complete the volunteer interest form. The Meal Ministry Team lead, Marsha Boner, will connect with you to explain how the team works, what notifications to watch for, and how to sign up to help with each opportunity.
Missions
- Description: A Mission Team Member is someone who has a heart for global and local missions and who has committed to being part of a global or local mission team. Teams have the opportunities to be sent to other parts of the world or right here in Stark County.
- Commitment: This depends on where and what type of team you are serving on. International team commitments require several months of training/ meetings to help equip you to go and serve at one of our global partner locations. Local serve teams will have specific trainings to equip you to serve at one of our local partner’s locations.
- Getting started: Next Steps for interest in being a Mission Team Member is to complete the interest form. The team lead will set up a brief meeting to hear your heart for missions and help you decide which opportunities are best for you.
Photo & Video Team
- Description: It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. As a member of the Photo & Video team, it is our honor to be trusted behind the lens to not only capture moments, but also have an eye to see them unfold. The heart of the NCC Photo & Video team is foremost to tell the story of what God is doing in, and through, His body of believers here at NCC throughout all the spaces, places, ages, and settings.
- Commitment: Photo & Video Team members are asked to serve once a month, serving during both gatherings on their requested date. In the week leading up to serving, we ask that team members pray for the people and interactions they will capture.
- Getting Started: To join the Photo & Video team, please complete the serve interest form. The team lead will set up a meeting to get to know you and complete a brief training. Please be prepared to share examples of recent work that you have done for reference in the conversation.
Production
- Description: Online Camera Operators bring the sanctuary worship experience to our online community and remote viewers. Working closely with the production director, this role operates live production cameras to capture smooth framing, clear shots, and engaging visual coverage.
- Commitment: Online Camera Operators serve during scheduled Sunday gatherings, arriving before worship rehearsal begins to run camera checks, verify video feeds, and review shot plans with the director. Volunteers serve on a flexible monthly rotation coordinated through the production lead.
- Getting Started: To join the Production Team as an Online Camera Operator, please complete the serve interest form. The production director will connect with you to discuss equipment basics, walk through framing philosophy, and schedule a time for you to shadow an experienced operator.
- Description: Audio Engineers provide sound support for both the worship and preaching teams, creating a hospitable environment for worship through a balanced, distraction-free mix (e.g., proper volume levels and no feedback). Experienced audio engineers also help train new volunteers by modeling practical skills and team philosophy through shadowing.
- Commitment: Audio Engineers arrive at the start of band rehearsal to conduct sound checks, dial in mixes, setup preaching microphones, and troubleshoot audio issues. Volunteers are scheduled based on team rotation preferences agreed upon with the production lead.
- Getting Started: To join the Audio Team, please complete the serve interest form. The production director will contact you for a brief meeting to discuss your experience, walk through our audio philosophy, and arrange a time for you to shadow a service.
- Description: ProPresenter Leaders manage all visual content on screen during gatherings. They collaborate with the worship and preaching teams to input error-free lyrics, scripture passages, sermon notes, and announcement media. They also train incoming volunteers by modeling visual production practices and philosophy during shadow sessions.
- Commitment: ProPresenter Leaders arrive toward the start of worship rehearsal to test announcement media, review sermon slides, and rehearse visual timing alongside the music team. Serving rotations are coordinated through the production lead.
- Getting Started: To join the production team as a ProPresenter Leader, please complete the serve interest form. The production lead will connect with you to review software basics and schedule a time for you to shadow during a weekend gathering.
Students: High School
- Description: The role of an HSM Small Group Leader is two-fold: to be present and to disciple. Your first responsibility is to be a consistent presence at HSM each Wednesday night. You will worship alongside students, help create an energetic and welcoming environment, facilitate small group conversations, encourage students to ask questions, share honestly, and apply God’s word to their lives, and pray with and for your students during the week.
- Commitment: This is a presence-driven ministry; consistency builds trust, and trust opens the door for discipleship. We ask every Small Group Leader to commit to: being present every Wednesday night when HSM is meeting, serving from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, arriving ready to engage with students, worship, lead discussions, and communicate in advance if an absence is unavoidable. Bonus: Dinner is provided each Wednesday because ministry is always better around a table together.

- Description: The role of an HSM Table Talk Facilitator is centered around presence and discipleship. Table Talk is designed to be a relaxed, welcoming, and non-threatening environment where students can wrestle with real-life topics through the lens of Scripture. As a Table Talk Facilitator, your role is to: create a safe and engaging environment where every student feels welcome, facilitate meaningful discussion, encourage students to think critically, ask questions and apply God's Word to everyday life, help quieter students find their voice while ensuring every student feels heard and valued, pray with and for your students, and build relationships that extend beyond Sunday mornings. More than having all the answers, we are looking for leaders who are willing to listen well, love students faithfully, and point them toward Jesus.
- Commitment: Consistency matters. Students grow when they know their leaders will be there. We ask every Table Talk Facilitator to commit to: being present every Sunday morning whenever possible, serving from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM, coming prepared to engage in conversations and invest in students, and communicating in advance if an absence is unavoidable. Bonus: Donuts are always FREE...and conversations around donuts are usually the best ones.

Students: Middle School
- Description: The role of a small group leader is to connect with and disciple Middle School Students. Small group leaders will engage with students, participate in worship through the service time, facilitate discussion questions that coincide with the lesson, pray with and for the students. Male and Female leaders are needed for this role.
- Commitment: Small Group Leaders are asked to commit to being present each Sunday Morning at 10:15AM- 11:45AM. When an absence is unavoidable, we ask that leaders communicate in advance. Attendance at both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Middle School services is preferred but not required. Connection lunches are another key time where volunteers have the opportunity to grow with students.

- Description: The role of a FTK Leader is to connect with and disciple Middle School Students. FTK Leaders will engage with students, participate in activities and disciple students. This is a high energy time with a lot of physical activity and engagement.
- Commitment: FTK Leaders are asked to commit to being present every Wednesday evening from 6:15-8:30 PM. When an absence is unavoidable, we ask that leaders communicate in advance. Attendance at both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Middle School services is preferred but not required.

Worship
- Description: Worship Musicians lead the congregation in praise through song, working with the worship pastor or band leader to eliminate musical distractions and visually embody a deep affection for Jesus. Musicians work to connect their hearts to the worship of the day rather than just the chord charts. Current needs: Keys, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar.
- Commitment: Musicians are required to serve at least once every 4 weeks and must attend all scheduled rehearsals prior to their assigned Sunday gathering. On serving days, musicians are asked to arrive on time, fully prepared, in appropriate attire, and with an amiable, hospitable attitude.
- Getting Started: To express interest in joining the worship team, please complete the serve interest form. The worship pastor will reach out to schedule an audition, discuss team expectations, and walk you through the onboarding process.
- Description: The Stage Design Team collaborates with the worship pastor and production director to conceptualize, build, and implement stage setups and set pieces. Their work enhances the visual aesthetic of the sanctuary platform in a way that minimizes distraction and directs the congregation's focus toward God.
- Commitment: Commitments are project-based around new sermon series, seasonal changes, or special events. Team members are asked to participate in design planning, prep work, and installation days as their schedules permit.
- Getting Started: To join the Stage Design Team, please complete the serve interest form. A team lead will connect with you to learn about your creative background and skills and invite you to an upcoming build or planning session.
- Description: The Chair Team helps create a welcoming, distraction-free environment for everyone who walks into the sanctuary. This team prepares the worship space by straightening sanctuary chairs, organizing seat materials, and ensuring the entire room looks clean, orderly, and ready for Sunday gatherings.
- Commitment: Chair Team members serve on Sunday mornings prior to the first gathering to prepare the sanctuary. Serving schedules are set on a flexible rotation based on volunteer availability.
- Getting Started: To join the Chair Team, please complete the serve interest form. The team lead will reach out for a brief chat to introduce you to the team and walk you through the prep checklist.
- Description: High School Ministry Worship Assistants support the musical and spiritual leadership of our high school gatherings. This role leads band rehearsals, manages equipment setup, and musical execution, while actively encouraging and mentoring student musicians as they grow in their skills and hearts for worship.
- Commitment: Worship Assistants serve during high school ministry gathering times, arriving early for pre-service sound checks and rehearsals. This role would serve as close to weekly as possible.
- Getting Started: To join the High School Ministry worship team, please complete the serve interest form. The Worship Pastor and High School Pastor will reach out to schedule a brief conversation, walk through standard youth volunteer onboarding (including a background check), and arrange a time for you to connect with the student worship team.
- Description: The Choir Pianist provides skillful, inspiring musical accompaniment for choir rehearsals and worship gatherings. Working closely with the choir director, this role helps guide the choir's pitch, timing, and dynamics, helping create a cohesive musical atmosphere that elevates the congregation's worship experience.
- Commitment: The Choir Pianist serves regularly during scheduled Sunday gatherings, special services, and mid-week or pre-service choir rehearsals. Volunteers are asked to arrive early for warm-ups and prep, coming prepared with assigned music reviewed in advance.
- Getting Started: To express interest in serving as the Choir Pianist, please complete the serve interest form. The choir director and/or worship pastor will reach out to set up a brief meeting and musical audition to get to know you and review upcoming repertoire.
- Description: Choir Vocalists contribute their vocal talents to lead the congregation in corporate worship through choral music. Working alongside the choir director and team, they blend their voices to deliver clear harmonies, support congregational singing, and foster an environment centered on worshiping God.
- Commitment: Choir Vocalists serve during scheduled Sunday gatherings and seasonal special services, attending all required pre-service and mid-week choir rehearsals. Volunteers are asked to arrive on time, come prepared with assigned music reviewed in advance, and serve with a joyful heart.
